Blog Marketing for Beginners

English: MarketingImage via WikipediaCreating a blog and using it to market a product or service is something that many bloggers are beginning to do. Believe it or not, there are quite a few ways that someone can earn money from blogging. The first step is to start a blog and understand what it's all about. Many bloggers start off slow, almost like a practice. They create a free blog. Make posts and try to keep it update. Posts can be about personal things to start off. Once a new bloggers sees how a blog works and know they have enough time to put into blogging, they start for real. Deciding what to blog about is probably the first tough decision bloggers have to make.
As a blogger you get to post pretty much anything you want. You get to decide what you write about, you can give your thoughts and opinions or promote a product or cause. Choose something you are interested in and write away. Just always try to keep your posts fresh and exciting.
Blogs are cheaper and easier than websites when it comes to marketing something. You can blog for free and not have to pay for a website. Having a free blog means you won't have our own URL, but when just beginning to blog, a free blog is a good option. There is no point paying for a website that might not be successful. Having a free blog gives you time to become successful and then you can always move your blog and get your own URL. Free blogs websites don't allow for too much customization. Your blog will probably look like someone else's, but for a beginner, that isn't too much of a concern.
Blog marketing can be quite confusing and to a beginner it may seem very complicated. Some bloggers earn an income from blog marketing while others simply earn a little extra cash. As an amateur, you will start out small and things will probably go slow. It can take a blog awhile to build up enough traffic to make the amount of money you want. Never has expectations of how much money you will earn, that way you will never be disappointed. Don't get discouraged and give up. It takes time for everyone and you have to be consistent.
If you have the opportunity and time to learn about blog marketing, it can be very valuable. It will take time and effort, but if you know what to do and keep up with it, you can make a decent amount of money.

Blog Marketing Methods

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - MARCH 20: Artwork is proj...Image by Getty Images via @daylifeCreating a blog can be fairly easy, but just having a blog doesn't mean anyone will be reading it. There are endless amounts of blogs and websites. A blog has be to marketed in order to drive traffic to it. This article will discuss the various ways to do blog marketing.
Having a lot of links to a blog, is one way to increase traffic. The more links that are out there, the more likely people are to click on them. The more links the better. Back links are also a way to improve search engine rankings. Having links on a higher ranked website or blog can boost rankings. Getting links to a blog is a job that is never done. As long as a blogger is updating their blog and wants more readers they will need to be finding places to post links.
Some bloggers that have money to spare decide to use paid directories. These directory websites don't accept all blogs, so if a blogger can get on one, it shows that a blog is high quality. Bloggers have to pay to be in a directory. Some think it's worth it because in the long run it makes them more money. However, when just starting out, many bloggers need to use free marketing opportunities.
Using forums and message boards is a very popular way to market a blog. Bloggers can find forums that are related to their blog topic. They can make posts and include a link their to their blog in their signature. Bloggers need to be careful when doing this, because they don't want their link to appear to be spam. Posting it on only relevant forums is important because then people are more interested in the topic and may think the blogger is an expert. Therefore, they are more likely to follow the link.
If a blogger knows of other blogs that cover the same topic, they can go to those blogs and leave comments. You can complement the other blogger and tell them to check out your blog. This will drive those bloggers and their readers to your blog. This is a great way to get seen, however this can be tricky. Other bloggers may be offended if they know your intention is to drive traffic to your blog. They want to keep their readers just as you want to gain new ones. Keep your comments friendly, and maybe you can even get another blogger to put a link to your blog on theirs if you do it in return.
Videos can be a great way to do blog marketing. Creating videos that are related to your blog and then posting them on video directories can drive traffic to your blog. Post a video on YouTube and put a link to your blog. If people like the video, they will visit your blog. Videos can be fun to make, and they give bloggers something different to do besides just writing.
Another blog marketing method is to use press releases. You can write your own or pay and have one written about your blog. Press releases can be submitted to various news websites. If they post your press release you can get a lot more traffic. Plus, having a link to your blog on a news website will help increase your blog ranking.
Bloggers may choose to only use a few of these marketing methods or all of them. It depends on how much time the blogger has to spare. Blog marketing can take a lot of time, but it's necessary for any blogger that is concerned about having a successful blog that makes a profit.

Get Effective Blog Marketing Results

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...
Image via CrunchBase
If you make blog marketing complicated it will be, if you take the time to learn about it, you will probably have a much easier time. If you are reading this article then you probably know that there is a lot you need to know before you jump right into blog marketing.
It can be complicated, but it doesn't have to be. Blog marketing is a lot of common sense. You need a good blog and a lot of promoting to get more readers. More readers get you more money.
If you are just creating a blog, then first focus on that. Just do a journal blog to start out and get comfortable with it. This is a good practice for making sure you can keep up with blogging. Starting a free blog and doing a personal journal for a little bit, gives you a feel for blogging, and you can't lose anything except some time. Once, you are familiar with blogging you can move on. Decide what you can promote with a blog. Do you want to promote a hobby, business, product, service, cause, etc. This will depend on your interests and what topic can use another blog.
When choosing a topic for your blog, try to think of an interest you have that doesn't already have a thousand blogs dedicated to it. It's best to write about something you are knowledgeable on, but you want your blog to be different and stand out in order for it to be most successful.
A very effective way to get results, is to pay attention to your content. You are in control of your content, but you need to make sure your content is always relevant. You need to choose a niche and stick with it so you can gain readers and keep them. You aren't limited to only one thing. If you want to write a parenting blog there are endless things to write about. You can write about anything related to newborns, toddlers, teens, tips, advice, toy reviews, cartoon reviews, children's furniture reviews, schools, daycares, tips on telling kids about death, divorce, sex, drugs, etc. If you decide to have a blog about pet you can write about any type of pet such as a dog, cat, bird, fish, iguana, horse, goat, snake, rabbit. Plus, how to care for them, training, breeders, pet adoption, etc. Choosing one topic really doesn't have to limit you. You also have to regularly update your content in order to attract new readers and keep the old ones interested. Try to make posts creative, interesting, and unique.
Once you have spent time focusing on the blog itself, you need to learn about promoting it. Just because you create a new blog doesn't mean it will magically pop up on everybody's computers. You will need to research which keywords you should use and how to improve search engine rankings. Those two things can be very effective in blog marketing.
Spreading the word about your blog will be vital. Post links to your blog wherever you can. On social networking sites like Facebook, in comments on other blogs, in forums, etc. Spread the word as much as you can and see which ways give you the best results. You will have to consistently promote your blog, it is an ongoing process if you want it to be most effective.

However, believe it or not there are people that earn six figures from blog marketing.

In order to manage a large number of blogs and keep them all updated and promoted, tasks have to be outsourced, which means the blogger is paying other people to do work. Not everybody has enough money to be able to outsource.
Another major part of becoming a six figure blogger is the fact that they probably had a unique idea, and created blogs that had little competition. With little competition and high search engine rankings, a blogger can easily have success and earn a lot of money.
If you are a blogger that dreams of making a lot more money, it is possible. However, it will require hard work, a lot of dedication and the proper knowledge. A blogger has to understand blogging, business, and marketing to make six figures. Blogging will become a fulltime job plus more. A blogger will quickly learn that they need to outsource. This requires enough money to pay people and bloggers have to make sure they hire reliable and skilled people that will help a blogger not ruin their reputation.
Managing multiple blogs is difficult, outsourcing is needed as well as timely updates. You would have to schedule all updates, to make sure that none are missed. It can get confusing making sure a lot of different blogs are all being updated and promoted.
Blogging can be a great stay at home job and you can make as little or as much as you want. So, if you want to dream big, then go for it. It will take research, a lot of time, and a lot of hard work, but it can be done. There are some amazing blogger success stories.

How Bloggers Can Make As Much or As Little Money As They Want

English: Brain Blogger logoImage via WikipediaMany people hear about bloggers making huge amounts of money, but is it really true? How much money can a blogger make? Well, it depends on the blogger.
Bloggers make their own destiny. If they only blog part-time, it will probably show, they won't make that much money. If a blogger is very dedicated and blogs for a living, they will make an income from it. With blogging you really get the money you earn. If you put in a lot of time and effort you will make more money than someone who blogs a few hours a week.
Making a profit from blogging isn't just about writing a blog, a lot more goes into it. If a blogger wants to make money they do have to have a blog with regularly update content, but they also have to promote it. Bloggers end up learning a lot about marketing. Without blog marketing there really isn't much money to be made.
If a blogger is not happy with the amount of money they're making, they need to make changes. The first change will be how much the blogger works. If you want more money you have to spend more time promoting. If someone is spending hours and hours promoting their blog and still don't have a lot of traffic then they need to figure out what's wrong. A blogger may need to change the places where they are promoting their blog. There are plenty ways to do it and if one way isn't working then a blogger needs to move on to the next. Try promoting on forums, post videos on YouTube and include a link to the blog, do link exchanges, try using more keywords, promote a blog on a social networking website, etc.
A lot of free tools are available to help bloggers with marketing. This allows bloggers to promote their blog and make more money without having to spend any. One great tool is something that a blogger doesn't even have to search for or download, it's blog comments. Blog readers leave comments, read them and they may be able to tell you what people like and dislike. If nobody is commenting, make a post asking them to comment with their opinions. A blogger can also leave comments on other blogs or make forum posts and include a link to their blog. This is an easy way to spread the word about a blog and it's free.
With all the different marketing techniques, bloggers have to be sure they don't forget about the blog itself. Blogs always need updating. People expect regular posts. If you say you are going to post everyday and you don't, you will lose readers. Readers want to know a new post will be there when you say it will be. If something comes up, at least make a short post explaining why you can't make your new post.
Blog marketing really is a great way to make money. There is no limit to how much money a blogger can make. If they are super determined and want to spend all their time creating successful blogs, they can make as much money as they want. Some people aren't in blogging for the money so they are happy with the small amount of extra cash they earn for doing something they'd do for free.

Fun Blog Marketing Methods

Web Marketing and UsabilityImage via WikipediaYou've been blogging for a while now, but you want to take your blog to the next step. What do you do? Start marketing your blog. Spread the world about your blog and never stop.
Blog marketing is on-going, it's equally as important as your content. If you have good content, but don't do any marketing your blog won't be successful. If you market like crazy, but never update your blog it won't be successful. You need to spend time creating well written posts and even more time promoting your blog. Just because a blog exists doesn't mean it's easy for everybody to find.
Blog marketing isn't hard it's just time consuming. Although, it's also up to the blogger. If you don't want to spend a lot of time promoting your blog, that's your choice. If you have a lot of time to put towards promoting your blog, the more successful it will probably be. Not only does the blogger have to spend a lot of time promoting, it can also take a little to notice the results.
Most bloggers use the same ways of promoting their blog such as improving their search engine rankings and exchanging links. However, there are other blog marketing methods that are more exciting.
The first is pretty easy. If something newsworthy happens and it is related to your blog topic, make a post about it. Then if people are searching for information on the event, they may come across your people. People are always checking out current events. That is also something to remember. Don't bother posting about old news. Post current news, that people will be very interested in.
A great way to market your blog that many people don't do is conduct interviews. Interview people that are authorities in the market you write about. You can turn your interview into a question and answer post or turn it into an article. People will be very interested in reading an interview. You can even put the post on an article submission website and include a link to your blog at the end. A lot of people look on article submission websites and having a link to your blog from one of those websites improves your search engine ranking. This has the potential to drive quite a bit of traffic to your blog.
Another marketing method that most bloggers don't try is sending out press releases. A blogger can go online and find out how to write a press release or hire someone else to write it and send it out. It usually doesn't cost that much either. A press release about your blog can be sent out to news websites and published. Their readers will read it and check out your blog.
Most bloggers take advantage of using comments on blogs and it really is an effective way to market a blog. Always responds to any comments left on your blog by readers. Also, search for blogs that are in the same market as your blog and leave comments that include a link to your blog.
A fun way to promote your blog is to hold contests. Even if it's just something really simple, people love contests. It will keep people coming back to your blog and if you are giving something away your readers may even tell their friends to check out your blog. If you just get people to go on your blog once, they may like it and become a regular reader.
Although blog marketing can be time consuming it can be a lot of fun. Many people think blogging just involves writing posts, but there's so much more. Blog marketing allows you to build relationships with other bloggers and your readers. Leaving comments, interviewing people and running a contest can be a lot of fun and it makes blogging even more exciting than it already is.

English: White hat seo symbolizes good ethic t...Image via WikipediaDo you want a successful blog with a large number of readers? If you're struggling to spread the word about your blog, spending a lot of time marketing and getting no results, then you might not be doing the right things. This article will the explain the most important blog marketing techniques that all bloggers need to use.
First, you must know that blog marketing takes time. You have to put a lot of time into it as well as wait a while to actually notice the results. If you don't have patience or don't want to work hard, then blog marketing isn't for you.
One important aspect of blog marketing is the content of the blog. You need to have a niche. One market that your blog always covers. Having a niche keeps your blog focused and allows you to know who your target audience is. It may seem like it will limit you, but it doesn't. You can write about so many different aspects of one topic and you can write about anything that is related. Your writing has to be good. People don't like reading blogs that are full of errors or posts that don't even make sense. If you slack when writing, your regular readers will notice and your traffic will probably decrease. Every new post needs to be interesting, fresh, and well-written. Good blog bring in new readers and keep their old readers too.
Updating your blog is almost just as important as what you write. If you never update your blog, nobody will bother checking it anymore. Blog readers expect regular updates either daily or weekly. Understanding Blog Marketing

Blog of the day once againImage by the Italian voice via FlickrBlog marketing is one of the latest trends of marketing online that you are going to find. Some people get confused because bloggers can market or promote a product on their blog and they also have to market the blog itself.
Many blogs promote products, services, or a cause. Bloggers can promote and sell their own products or services or discuss someone else's product. A lot of blogger choose to promote political and social issues on blogs in order to create a change in a law or the way people think. A blog may market something on such as a blogger's own product or a writing service. Bloggers can even do affiliate blogging which involves promoting someone else's product and earning a commission.
What can a blog be about? Pretty much anything. Blogs can be about personal things or they can promote something. What should be marketed on a blog? Something that the blogger is interested in and won't get tired of writing about. Also, blogs should be limited to one market. A blog about pets should not cover computers. However, a pet blog could discuss cats, dogs, fish, horses, pet products, pet adoption stories, etc.
In order for a blog to be successful, bloggers have to promote their blogs. They have to get the word out about the blog and gain more readers.
They are usually indexed in search engines, the hard part is getting them ranked higher. When someone searches for something in a search engine, they usually only click on the first pages of results, there bloggers want their blog ranked as high as they can get it. Doing this requires a lot of research and effort. Bloggers need to learn about search engine optimization, keywords, back links, and more..
Bloggers can choose how often to update their blog. A lot of times updating a blog more regularly is the best. People get sick of waiting for new posts to read and will start reading a different blog. The key to updated a blog is being consistent. Bloggers should have some a update schedule for example having a new post wither daily or weekly.
Blogs can be made on free blogging websites or they can be created from scratch and have their own domain. Bloggers have to pay for their own domain and they either have to know how to create their own website or hire someone who does. For beginners, free blogging websites are a great option. Some bloggers even choose to have a blog and a website. They put links for the blog on the website and vice versa.
Blog marketing can be slightly confusing for beginners, but it is very important. Just because a blog exists on the internet doesn't mean people know it's there. Blog marketing takes times but it can be very effective if done right.

Many bloggers choose to create a blog on a free blogging website. There is nothing wrong with this, it's actually a great way to start. However, your blog should stand out and this can sometimes be hard when there are only so many templates to choose from. A free blogging website that allows for customization is probably the best option. Make your blog have personality while still looking professional and easy to read. Bright colors can sometimes make it hard for someone to read the actual text. Be aware of these types of things.
Next, you need to start marketing. This involves exchanging links with other blogs and websites. Exchanging with authority sites is the most beneficial. An authority site is a blog or website that have higher page rank, having your blog linked to one of these sites helps improve your own page rank. You should try to exchange links with blogs in the same market. Many bloggers have no problem exchanging links since they want to improve their own rank too.
You should also research what keywords you should be using in your blog content. Keywords can also help improve your blog when it comes to search engine results. You want as many people as possible to be able to find your blog when they are searching online.
Look for bloggers that offer advice on blog marketing. Learning from someone that has already been through it and is still blog marketing, can be helpful.

What Does Blog Marketing Involve?

mappa_blogImage by francescopozzi via FlickrYou've heard of blogging, but what exactly is blog marketing? It is marketing a blog, spreading the word about a blog and increasing its number of readers. Blog marketing is something bloggers put a lot of time and effort into. It's a way for them to create a very successful blog. Many bloggers are very serious about blog marketing, especially bloggers that earn a profit. However, for bloggers that just blog for fun, they may be less concerned about how successful their blog becomes.
There are a lot of different aspects of blog marketing and not every blogger markets their blog the same. Different blog marketing tools work well for some bloggers, while they don't do much for others. A lot of blog marketing is trial and errors. Bloggers make changes or try new things and then they have to wait and see if they increased readership or not.
It helps to promote a blog and improve its traffic or for some blogs, it's number of sales. It is an ongoing process. If a blogger stops marketing their blog, they won't get any more successful. Promoting a blog has to be done as long as the blogger is blogging.
Some more specific aspects of marketing include getting links on, leaving comments, improving search engine rankings, having RSS feeds, holding contests, etc. It is similar to marketing a website. Just because a blog or website exists don't mean everybody knows about it. Search engines play a large role in blog marketing. Bloggers use keywords, links, and search engine optimization to help improve their rank. People don't usually go through every page of results, so the higher up a page is on search engine results, the more likely it is to get clicked on.
Some marketing involves making a profit. Some bloggers sell ad space or do affiliate marketing so that they can earn money from blogging. Some bloggers sell a product on their blog so they want more readers so they are more likely to sell profits. Not all bloggers want to earn an income from blogging. Some people blog for fun and just try to earn a little extra cash from it, since they spend so much time doing it.
