Many bloggers start off slow, almost like a practice. They create a free blog. Make posts and try to keep it update. Posts can be about personal things to start off. Once a new bloggers sees how a blog works and know they have enough time to put into blogging, they start for real. Deciding what to blog about is probably the first tough decision bloggers have to make.
As a blogger you get to post pretty much anything you want. You get to decide what you write about, you can give your thoughts and opinions or promote a product or cause. Choose something you are interested in and write away. Just always try to keep your posts fresh and exciting.
Blogs are cheaper and easier than websites when it comes to marketing something. You can blog for free and not have to pay for a website. Having a free blog means you won't have our own URL, but when just beginning to blog, a free blog is a good option. There is no point paying for a website that might not be successful. Having a free blog gives you time to become successful and then you can always move your blog and get your own URL. Free blogs websites don't allow for too much customization. Your blog will probably look like someone else's, but for a beginner, that isn't too much of a concern.
Blog marketing can be quite confusing and to a beginner it may seem very complicated. Some bloggers earn an income from blog marketing while others simply earn a little extra cash. As an amateur, you will start out small and things will probably go slow. It can take a blog awhile to build up enough traffic to make the amount of money you want. Never has expectations of how much money you will earn, that way you will never be disappointed. Don't get discouraged and give up. It takes time for everyone and you have to be consistent.
If you have the opportunity and time to learn about blog marketing, it can be very valuable. It will take time and effort, but if you know what to do and keep up with it, you can make a decent amount of money.
