Personal Blogs

Blogging is very personal for a lot of bloggers. They choose to write about their personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings. make up a huge percentage of blogs and they are almost like online memoirs or documentaries.

Some bloggers dedicate their blogs to creative writing such as poetry and short stories, however most bloggers choose to document their own lives. Blogs are being used as a new form of documentaries, that don't involve any filmmaking.

There are many bloggers that simply makes posts every day about how their day was. What they did, what was good, what was bad, etc. They document each day as if they need to keep records of a historical moment. Most bloggers may do it just so they can vent, but it ends up being so much more. In the future, people may use today's blogs as a historical lesson of how people used to live.

Simple things like where someone went, what they bought and what they thought can be very interesting to not only friends and family members of the blogger, but to complete strangers that live a very different life. Some people enjoy reading blogs written by someone experiencing the same things as them, while others read blogs to see what other types of lives people have.

As previously mentioned, are usually just used as an outlet for people to express their feelings and thoughts. There usually isn't much of a goal for a personal blog, but the result is an online journal, a record, a documentary. Although, bloggers may not start their personal blog with a specific goal in mind, they usually do want people to read their blog and to leave comments. Bloggers want to express themselves and know that someone somewhere is interested in them.

Keeping Multiple Blogs Updated

blog.founddrama.net on the iPod touchImage by found_drama via FlickrIt can be difficult keeping just one blog up to date, but some bloggers maintain multiple blogs at a time. Some bloggers try to manage multiple blogs, but it ends up making all of the blogs unsuccessful. Quality matters when it comes to blogs and if quality is compromised to keep up with the quantity needed, it doesn't always work.
One of the most important things to do when trying to keep up with multiple blogs is managing time. Bloggers need to budget their time and make sure enough time is being spent on each blog. Some of them may need more updating then others so how time is divided will depend on the bloggers. A blog that is made up of opinions and thoughts, are usually easier than a blog that requires research. Also, one blog may have to be updated every day while another only has to be updated weekly. Bloggers may want to schedule out specific time to spend on each blog in order to keep them all update and successful.
Keeping blogs up to date is always a big deal, especially for a blogger trying to update multiple blogs. If blogs aren't updated readers may find other blogs to read. The internet is fast paced and people will no longer wait a long time to get their update if they can get it somewhere else. Managing time and setting a schedule for updates is the best way to keep multiple blogs updated.
A lot of time when people take on too much work and are struggling to keep everything updated they take ideas from other people. There is nothing wrong with getting ideas and inspiration from other blogs as long as all content is original. Blog readers look forward to reading unique posts. If a blogger maintains multiple blogs that are all similar, they still need to make sure each of them has completely original posts. Plus, if one reader follows the multiple blogs and the blogs seem repetitive, the reader will end up choosing to only follow one of the blogs in the future. Readers do not respond well to information that is not original.
Creative bloggers that know how to manage their time can successful manage multiple blogs and keep them all running successfully. If a blogger cannot keep up with all their blogs, they may have to make a decision to bring in help or get rid of one blog.

Search Engine Optimization for Blogs

Search Engine Marketing and Web 2.0 session in...Image by reachshalabh via FlickrSearch Engine Optimization is a very important part of online marketing whether someone is trying to promote their business, product, event, or blog. Bloggers who want to reach a large amount of people and get high traffic to their blog need to have at least a basic understanding of search engine optimization. Many bloggers do want increased traffic to increase their profit. This article will explain why SEO is important and give basic tips for using it for a blog.
SEO helps get websites or blogs ranked higher in search engines. The higher the rankings, the more traffic. When people go to a search engine to try to find websites on a certain topic, they typically click on the websites that are on the first page of search results. Some internet users will search through pages for what they're looking for, however they usually don't search through too many pages. Therefore the lower the ranking, the less traffic.
Every search engine uses complicated algorithms that rank websites. By the use of keywords that internet users type in, the search engine comes up with a list of results that should be the most relevant websites from highest ranked to lowest ranked. This is to give internet users the best and most relevant websites listed first.
The best way to do SEO for a blog is by using keywords. This is a very common practice, and it is also very easy and effective. Bloggers should use specific keywords in their blog. Keywords should probably make up about 2% of blog content. Putting keywords early on in a blog also helps. Bloggers can even put keywords into their blog's codes such as tags. Code are viewed by search engines before the actual content, therefore if keywords are in the code, a blog can pop up first on peoples results.
Some webmasters and bloggers also use back links to increase their rankings. Back links involves having links to your blog on other websites. Bloggers can offer to put links to each other's websites on their blogs. This helps both bloggers. Part of search engine rankings also include the number of links to a website. The more back links a blog has, the better. It will bring in more traffic and help achieve a higher ranking. The best thing for a blogger to do is to get a back link on a blog that ranks fairly well. Being linked to a poorly ranked blog, won't always help.
